Aptoide is an alternative app market that can be used to download apps to your box. Aptoide of course runs on the Android Operating System. In Aptoide, unlike the Google Play Store, there is not a unique and centralized store but each user manages their own store.
Currently, there are several versions of the Aptoide app: aptoide for smartphones and tablets, Aptoide TV – an edition for smart TVs and STBs, Aptoide VR and Aptoide Kids – developed for children devices.
The version for smartphones and tablets is currently installed on the box. In this guide, we’ll go over the different sections of Aptoide and how to use it to download apps you want to use. Aptoide is a great place for all types of apps like games, streaming apps, and even VPNs.
Aptoide is not a default home screen app, but you can make it part of your home screen by clicking the plus button at the right end of the home screen apps. You’ll have to deselect an app that Aptoide will replace on the home screen, but it takes 2 seconds to add.
If you don’t add the Aptoide app to your home screen, you can click on the “My Apps” tab.
Then click on the Aptoide app.
When you click on the app, it takes you to the home screen for Aptoide.
You’ll notice that Aptoide looks similar to Google Play, but not quite the same. Like we mentioned before, instead of everything being in one place, each developer keeps their apps in their own “store”. However, you can search for apps from all stores using the search feature in the upper right hand corner of the home screen.
You can also use the headings at the top of the screen to browse different areas of the Aptoide app. For instance, if you click the “community” tab, it will take you to a different screen where you can view the newest updates and most popular apps.
It’s also a place to see the latest reviews of apps. When you click on the “Stores” tab, this will take you to a screen where you can view different developer stores. These are the repositories where they store their apps.
You can also add stores of developers you like so you’ll have easier access to their stores.
The next tab is the “updates” tab. It shows versions of your apps that need updates. It’s best to only update apps that you’ve installed from Aptoide in this area. Otherwise, it downloads a new APK that’s harder to install.
The next tab is the “social timeline” tab that allows you to download the app for your phone to get alerts and updates.
Finally, we have the “downloads” tab that shows any apps that you’ve downloaded or are currently downloading from the app.
Why use Aptoide?
Some apps are only available from Aptoide. This is the case for streaming apps like Movie HD. Also, if you get any errors when downloading an app from the Google Play Store, you may try Aptoide for the same app. We’ve had a lot of success downloading great Android apps from Aptoide.
Is it secure?
The Aptoide marketplace is secure, but to be safe, you’ll want to make sure the app you’re downloading has the “trusted” badge on it.
Aptoide is not some kind of sketchy marketplace. It’s a place for Android developers to develop apps and make them available to millions of people. The name Aptoide combines the “APT” packaging manager acronym with “oide”, a different spelling of the last syllable of Android.
Enjoy the Aptoide marketplace and let us know what apps you’ve found that work great on your box!
